Fresno officials envision to study how the payday allowance industry affects low-income residents, but attempts to gain local and form regulation of the lenders were unsuccessful Tuesday. The Fresno City Council this forenoon voted down a proposed halt limiting creative payday credit branches from opening for 45 days. The predicament action needed six votes to pass, but failed 4-3, with synod members Jerry Duncan, Mike Dages and Henry T. Perea voting no.
