You don't have occasion for to be a genius surgeon to figure this one out (although you almost requisite that salary to be able to afford to burning in Ann Arbor!). A massive number of Ann Arbor enclosure residents work for UM. Salary increases have been least (less than 4%) for many, many years now. Unless you command stale to 6 figures, your once-a-year increase doesn't even inundate the increase in employee health assurance contributions…and it's going to get much worse.
I don't even call to mind the wear time our increases were in line with the 'cost of living' increase! Many of us are thankful to have a job, and vigour insurance, but we can't sacrifice to live here anymore.
